Match Report | Minehead: 4 Weston Super Mare: 1 Minehead bounced back from a recent poor run of form to capture a 4-1 win in a local derby against a typically abrasive Weston Super Mare team. Minehead were in total control for the first twenty minutes and took an early lead through Luke Barker, but the game then broke down slightly as players from both sides were sent to the sin bin. James Weetch, despite the volatile atmosphere of the game took charge and netted his first goal of the day following a really well worked move involving 5 – 6 Minehead players. Weston, against the run of play managed to score a breakaway goal, to bring the score to 2-1. This would be the first and last time the Weston team saw the joys of beating the ever present Freddie Wilson in the Minehead goal. A tense session of play ensued, however Minehead rallied again and Weetch soon found the net with his second goal. This was soon followed by a second goal for Barker rounding off another good game. Minehead controlled the game for most parts with big performances all over the field, stand out performer Chris Weetch took the Player of The Match accolade with a faultless game in the middle of the park. Minehead & District Social Club Man of the Match: Chris Weetch Minehead: Freddie Wilson, Nick Hill, Ian Jeanes, Andrew Covey, Taylor Buller, Nick Jones, Chris Weetch, James Weetch, Archie Marsh, Alex Covey, Rob Speed, Luke Barker, Shane Heale
