Minehead continue their winning run with a very hard fought 2-1 win over a determined Clifton Robinson’s team. The home team started the brightest and had Minehead pinned back for the first 5 minutes of the game. Great defensive work from the captain Taylor Buller and his comrade Nick Hill, together with some outstanding saves from Freddie Wilson kept the scores level at 0-0.

Minehead grew into the game and their first meaningful break into the opposition D saw a penalty corner awarded. Nick Hill continuing his fine goal scoring form, putting the ball into the top corner of the goal with a fine drag flick.

Clifton Robbies came back at Minehead and caught the Minehead defence napping to equalise within two minutes of Minehead taking the lead.

The end to end action continued and Minehead soon found themselves with another penalty corner, this time following a goal line scramble Taylor kept a cool head and slotted past the Clifton keeper from close range.

Clifton, continued to press the Minehead team and quash any impending breaks, playing with high intensity, however didn’t manage to defeat Wilson who had another exceptional game in goal. Towards the end of the game as the pressure mounted, Clifton found themselves with numerous penalty corners, but couldn’t make the breakthrough.

Minehead holding out for the win, continuing their 100% record for 2020.
