Match Report | Minehead started the match on the front foot, with Will Pring, Steve Hadley and Shane Heale controlling events nicely from the middle of the park. Early pressure told, when a short corner was nicely put away into the left corner by Heale. Fieldhouse was a constant outlet for Minehead down the right hand side, causing all sorts of problems and a couple of sharp break aways should of really led to Minehead being two to three up within half an hour Minehead were made to pay as Sidmouth and Ottery scored after a sloppy passage of play from the home side at the back, giving the ball away in their own 25 and Sidmouth levelled with a smart finish. Minehead hit back before half time regaining control, again fieldhouse made the difference with a strong break away from the half way line and driving through the middle of the defence to slot past the keeper. A rejuvenated Ottery side started the 2nd half with new vigour, looking to press high and with more intent, Brandon Rawle with a couple of smart early saves in the second half were warning signs for Minehead. A needless green card for Hadley put the pressure on and the pressure told, when Ottery took the lead from a short corner that Rawle will be disappointed not to have saved. Minehead withstood strong pressure from Ottery and started to play more on the break. As the game came to a close, Meacham made a strong run down the left and kept his cool to lay back Heale at the top of the D who played a lovely first time ball through to Clegg who finished neatly into the far corner. The score finished 3-2 with Minehead seeing off the final 10 minutes with relative ease.
