Match Report | Minehead A playing at home welcomed a young Tiverton side to the ever sunny seaside resort of Minehead in West Somerset. Tiverton coming into the weekend in 2nd place in the South East 1 League, would be a test for Minehead currently sat mid-table. Minehead took the initiative and after not long Shane Heale finished off a short corner routine with exquisite style utilising his phantom pass to great effect to confuse the Tiverton goalie and defeat him at the far post. Tiverton maintained a solid amount of pressure and Mark Swallow found himself having to make multiple saves to keep Minehead in the lead, unfortunately the onslaught was rewarded when Tiverton levelled not long before half time. Going into the second half at 1-1 Minehead knew there was a chance of getting some points out of the game. Mark Swallow having an excellent second half continuing his first half form and eventually earning himself man of the match, managed to prevent any further scoring from the away side. As the second half progresses Minehead mounted more pressure on the Tiverton goal and Daz Meecham stepped up to finish a well worked move involving most of the attacking line. A well fought game ended 2-1 with Minehead maintaining their mid-table position. Man of the Match: Mark Swallow Minehead: Mark Bolton, Jack Chown, Steve Thompson, Darren Meecham, Mark Collins, Shane Heale, Luke Orpin, Tom Panton, Paul Stevens, Mark Swallow |
