2nd XI Vs West Dorset

Minehead started off the first half well creating several chances but not being able to capitalise and take the lead. Unfortunately West Dorset caught Minehead on the break and the first time they entered into the Minehead D they scored a well worked goal.

Minehead continued to work hard in midfield with Phil Sting, Shane Heale and John Clegg playing well to release chances for Daz Meacham, Paul Stevens and Kieran Jones upfront. Unfortunately Minehead were not able to get level and went in one nil down at half-time despite a good first half performance.

The second half saw Minehead again start well before unfortunately a Simon Strong error in front of the goal lead to an easy chance for the West Dorset striker who finished past Ryan Jones. West Dorset continued to press and Minehead needed several good saves from Ryan Jones to keep the score remaining at two nil.

After several short corners for West Dorset, Minehead again could not keep them out and they increased their lead to 3 -0. Minehead continued to battle and with Luke Orpin and Tom Panton pushing higher up the pitch, several additional chances were created which could not be finished off.

Finally it took a great Shane Heale individual goal to get them on the scoresheet. As the clock wound down Minehead pushed for a second goal but unfortunately were not able to beat the West Dorset keeper who had a good game.

Final score was 3-1 to W. Dorset.
